Central Kitsap Montessori was started by Diana Zegers as a small school in the Brownsville area called Brownsville Montessori.  Eventually Mrs. Zegers moved the school to a place right on Barker Creek and renamed the school Barker Creek Montessori.  When the waiting list grew longer and longer, she opened a second school, Steele Creek Montessori, in another location.  Eventually, through various circumstances, the two schools moved to a larger location, making 1 school with 2 classrooms.  While Brownsville Montessori, Barker Creek Montessori, and Steele Creek Montessori gave us many, many fond memories, we are now happy to be together in our 'forever home' on Central Valley Road.  During the 2020-2021 school year we celebrated our 30th year in operation!
