CK Montessori’s Detailed Monthly Curriculum

At CK Montessori we have a few subject areas that change every month.  We have a 2 year science curriculum that we rotate.  Every other year we either teach about Plants and Insects or Animals.  See the details of this below.  We have also laid out our geography curriculum in more detail and the sign language words that we teach each month.

Plants & Insects Curriculum

September:  Geography – Land/Air/Water.  Science – Plant Introduction and Fruits, Living/Non-Living, Plant/Animal.  Sign Language Words – please, thank you, excuse me, manners, nice, work, sit, walk, listen

October:  Geography – Land Forms.  Science – Leaves and Spiders. Sign Language Words – weather, today, sunny, windy, rainy, cold, cloudy, foggy, I, my, wait, patience, turn, bathroom, hungry, thirsty, again, clean

November:  Geography -Names of the Continents.  Science – Deciduous Trees.  Sign Language Words – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, white, grey, gold, circle, square, triangle

December:  Geography -Europe.  Science – Evergreen Trees.  Sign Language Words – bear, bird, duck, horse, frog, cat, dog, sheep, fish, children, teacher

January:  Geography -Asia.  Science – Stems & Vegetables, Insect Intro / Ants.  Sign Language Words – finished, yes, no, help, like, don’t like, want, don’t want, good, bad, with, without

February:  Geography -Africa.  Science – Worms, Roots.  Sign Language Words – feel, how, happy, sad, love, I love you, heart, valentine, sorry, grumpy, excited, scared, eager, lonely, ashamed, proud
